Silver:Gold Ratio, 5/7/09.

(originally an email written 5/7/09)

A falling Silver:Gold ratio means it takes less silver to buy 1 oz of gold.  Today it’s 66 ounces, Winter 08, it was more than 75 oz, sometimes more than 80. During all of 2006, 07, and 08 until summertime, it averaged 53.  Silver has now outperformed gold since Oct 08, and looks poised to continue, both for technical and fundamental reasons.

Currently (5/8/09), silver is up 29% on the year, gold just 5.3%.
