NBA Awards – Fri Night Apr 2nd, 2010

This is the first weekend Daily Awards since Dorrell Wright went Richter 3 yrs ago on a random night.  David Lee & Dwyane Wade were too good to not go immediately noticed and recognized…

The Akeem Olajuwon Award — David Lee37 pts, 20 reb, 10 asst, 9 FTM, 0 stl, 1 blk, 0 3’s, and 14-24 from the floor.  Jesus…20 – 10 is a great game – 20 pts 10 reb…when that’s just rebs & dimes, then you add 37 at  58% FG…hello jackpot!!!  I love this guy, as unexplosive as he is…he is deceptivley quick, and so skilled, and such a great natural rebounder, who finishes well around the hoop…By far my favorite white guy in the league.  And here’s how good his ridiculous 30-20-10 game was (last time 30/20/10? – Kareem, 1976)…it made D-Wade’s absurd night 2nd, when any other night it crushes for 1st place:  43 pts, 9 reb, 6 asst, 13 FTM, 3 stl, 3 blk, 2 3’s, 14-22…wow!!! What a pair of gems!

The Priest Lauderdale Award — Ray Allen…5 pts, 1 reb, 2 asst, 1 FTM, 0 stl, 0 blk, 0 treys, and 2-2 FG%…and fouled out in 17 min.  I’m tired of Ray Allen, I’m tired of KG, I’m tired of PP, and I’ve always hated and despised Rasheed, the tragic underacheiver…but I LOVE Rajon Rondo, who is a hyper quick wizard with the ball…reminds me of the NBA’s version of Marcelo Rios, the former world #1 ATP star from Chile 10+ years ago – enigmatic, different kinda cat, freaky athlete. But the Celtics suck, and have a bloated, old payroll…gross.
